Nicolle Halksworth CIM Accredited Marketing ProfessionalWhen the alarm went off at 6am Saturday morning, at first I was a little miffed - it was still very dark out and I swear it’s never a good sign when you can see your own breath indoors. But then I remember we (my husband and I) are heading to Westminster for The Chartered Institute of Marketing Graduation Ceremony to celebrate my Professional Diploma in Marketing qualification.


My mood lifted; (helped along by a steaming hot cup of tea) we get ready for the trip to London.


When arriving at Tower Bridge, it’s difficult not to feel a sense of pride and admiration - being surrounded by such iconic buildings as Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament is really quite special. They really do create a sense of occasion.


So, with the tone for the day already set, we make our way in to the Church House, Conference Centre to don my gown for the proceedings and pose for a number of rather uncomfortable photos, in full graduation attire.


Sitting in the ceremony room I find myself contemplating the journey I have already made to reach this point in my marketing career and can’t help feeling excited about the future.


As I make my way up on to the stage (praying I don’t trip) to receive my certificate, I feel a huge sense of achievement and a motivation to strive for the best.


If my experience over the last few years has taught me anything, it's that 2 of the most important characteristics for long-term success are professionalism and integrity! As a company why would you settle for anything less?
